Coquitlam Express deliver seventh loss in a row to Powell River Kings

Reilly Moran’s eighth goal of the season was the only highlight for Powell River Kings on Sunday, October 20, in a BC Hockey League game in Coquitlam against the Express.

Kings were already down 4-0 when Ben Wozney and Christian Buono combined to set up Moran on a powerplay at 16:43 of the first period. In eight other opportunities with the extra skater, Kings came up empty. The Express also went one for nine on the powerplay.

Coquitlam added two more goals in the second period, including one while playing shorthanded, and cruised to a 6-1 win, handing the Kings their seventh loss in as many games.

Braedy Euerby and Matteo Paler-Chow shared goaltending duties for the Kings. Euerby, the starter, stopped 17 of the 22 shots he faced. Paler-Chow made seven saves and gave up one goal in just over 20 minutes of action. 

Attendance at Poirier Sports and Leisure Centre was 562.

Kings return home for a pair of games at Hap Parker Arena later this week.

Prince George visits on Thursday, October 24, and Vernon provides the opposition on Friday, October 25.

Both games start at 7 pm.
