Letter: Warm room means the world

I’d like to thank our [Powell River-Sunshine Coast] MLA Nicholas Simons for recognizing this need for families in our community [“ inclusion Powell River receives $72,000 grant to fund warm room ,” January 22].
Powell River Peak letter

I’d like to thank our [Powell River-Sunshine Coast] MLA Nicholas Simons for recognizing this need for families in our community [“inclusion Powell River receives $72,000 grant to fund warm room,” January 22].

This is going to mean the world to so many of us. We are in our 80s/90s and have not been able to sit and visit with our grandson, who is a resident of a group home here in Powell River, since March of last year.

It’s been a very long 10 months for him (and so many others) without the love and support of his family. I am so grateful.

Something as simple as sitting with our dear grandson, Darren (complying with all the public health orders), will make us as grandparents so happy.
