Even though part of the unique appeal of the Sunshine Coast lies in its past as a haven for hippie ideals, I was somewhat disheartened to see an advertisement in the classified section of the April 27th edition of Coast Reporter for a position of "camp director" for a nudist resort in Roberts Creek.

Is this really the kind of thing we want to support on the Coast? And what exactly would a camp director position entail? Being nude in public seems like a slippery slope: soon we will have to explain to tourists why there are unattractive naked people everywhere displaying their mid-life crisis at every turn. Yuck. What's next? Sanctioned sex on the beach? Pot parties with our teenagers? Get it together, Creekers! It's not the '60s anymore and tossing your morals off with your clothes comes at the price of everyone else.
