Mindfulness and making bat boxes

Halfmoon Bay Happenings

The SevaLight Retreat Centre will be offering their Pure Meditative Peace & Mindfulness class over three Monday evenings beginning Nov. 4. This class provides you with the tools to focus your mind, develop concentration, relax the body and find a deeper sense of stillness and peace. It offers simple yet effective ways to look after your energy and be more in charge of how you feel physically, mentally and emotionally. The next session of Hatha Yoga classes will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 6 (advanced) and Thursday, Nov. 7 (beginner/intermediate) with both classes running from 5:45 to 7 p.m. This form of yoga focuses on moving the body with the breath with full awareness and helps greatly to enhance posture, release tension and develop strength. For more information or to reserve your place, please contact the centre at 604-740-0898 or [email protected]. The centre is a not-for-profit incorporated society.

Halfmoon Bay School Community Garden needs some love! If there are any gardening enthusiasts who are interested in helping either in the garden or with their growing tower, please contact Wendy at 604-551-8461. The school also has a large number of fall bulbs arriving soon. If you have any large containers 14 inches in length or diameter or larger that you are planning to get rid of, they could use them at the school.

RCMSAR12 is always ready. Last weekend they responded to a windsurfer in trouble in Sechelt Inlet. Today, they are asking for you to join them at their annual Burger and Beer Fundraiser, Thursday, Nov. 7 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Lighthouse Pub, Sechelt. They have some awesome things happening including a BC Ferries gift card as a door prize, a Walker Bay sailing dinghy to raffle off, an amazing silent auction (which you can also see online at www.32auctions.com/BeerandBurgerStation12 ), 50/50 draws and many stories to share! Come and join them to help save lives on the water. If you can’t be there, you can support them anytime by visiting www.rcmsar12.org/donate
