Winnipeg police say woman missing since August likely victim of foul play

WINNIPEG — Police in Winnipeg say they believe a woman who has been missing for nearly two months may be a victim of foul play.

Miranda Belle, who is 31, was last seen on the night of Aug. 17 in the city's Grant Park area.

Investigators say the circumstances of her disappearance are suspicious.

They also say a grey 2012 Dodge Caravan may be associated with the case.

Officers are asking residents and business owners in and around Winnipeg to check their properties, fields and outbuildings.

Police say Belle is Metis, five-foot-six, weighing about 100 pounds, with medium-length brown hair and brown eyes.

Some of her family members told a news conference Wednesday that anyone with information should call police.

"We all as a family want to bring my sister home," said Belle's sister, Alexis Harvey.
