You can see glam, glitz and glitter in a blur of motion six metres in the air, laugh at Swedish jokes, watch comic acrobats and more at the Downtown Victoria Buskers Festival, July 3 to 7 at various locations.

The five-day family-friendly community festival has something for everyone, with 12 quirky and unique street acts from around the world.

Home-grown Canadian musical talent includes Rhythm Works, the official drummers for the Toronto Raptors, Brent Tyler, a singer and guitar player from Western Canada, and Aidan and Mandy, a duo from Penticton who deliver heartfelt lyrics.

Andy Giroux, originally from Quebec, will dazzle with his handstands, floor acrobatics and a Cyr wheel.

Groove with the Magic Breakers, four skilled acrobats and breakdancers or laugh at Allez-Oops, a married duo who blend circus thrills and comedy.

Don’t miss Les Vitamines, a duo of comic acrobats who perform a parody on modern dance or Kate Wright, an Australian circus artist.

Lukas Stark and Sven from Sweden couldn’t be more different. One performs feats of magic, mentalism and skill. The other juggles and introduces audiences to his blend of Swedish humour.

The Silver Starlets, in their glam glitz and glitter, will perform acrobatics high in the air.

Patto and Julie form CirCo LocO, a unique act that blends old-fashioned, gypsy cabaret with contemporary circus stunts.

All the performers can be found at four busking pitch stops — in Centennial Square, Bastion Square, Market Square and Ship Point.

Admission is by donation. The festival runs from 9 a.m. on July 3 to 7 p.m. on July 7.
