Royals sign goaltender Tyler Palmer from AJHL

The Victoria Royals of the Western Hockey League have signed Alberta Junior Hockey League goaltender Tyler Palmer.

The 18-year-old Palmer played 13 games for the Spruce Grove Saints in the pandemic-shortened 2020-21 AJHL season, recording a 3.68 goals-against average, .892 save percentage with one shutout.

“His trajectory in recent ­seasons has been impressive,” said Royals GM and head coach Dan Price.

Palmer joined the Saints in the 2018-19 season from the Canadian Sport School Hockey League U-18 team in his native Lethbridge, Alta.
