The Victoria HarbourCats announced Game 2 of the best-of-three West Coast League North Division playoff series will be played Aug. 14 at Wilson’s Group Stadium at Royal Athletic Park. Game 3, if required will be Aug. 15 at Royal Athletic Park.
Tickets are now on sale for the divisional playoff games in Victoria.
The HarbourCats will play Game 1 on the road.
The regular-season will conclude for Victoria on Aug. 11 at home against the Port Angeles Lefties. The first playoff game will have to be played either Aug. 12 or Aug. 13. That will be determined by Victoria’s opponent.
The HarbourCats clinched a post-season berth by winning the North Division first-half title and will meet the second-half North champion in the divisional playoff round.
The first-half champion Corvallis Knights will do the same in the South Division. The North Division playoff champion will meet the South Division champion in the best-of-three 2019 WCL final, with the dates to be decided.
Meanwhile, the Ridgefield Raptors scored three runs in the top of the 14thinning to defeat the HarbourCats 8-5 in a late-finishing game Wednesday night at RAP.
The result left the HarbourCats at 1-2 in the second half of the season and 19-11 overall while the Raptors moved to 2-1 and 15-15.
The HarbourCats and Raptors were meeting again Thursday night, but with the venue switched to Ridgefield, which is a suburb of Vancouver, Washington.
Victoria was up 8-2 in the ninth at press time.
The HarbourCats continue their road trip with a three-game set against the Bend Elks beginning Saturday night in Oregon.
