The Victoria Royals and Regina Pats completed a player-for-player Western Hockey League trade on Tuesday. Coming to the Royals is 20-year-old forward Carter Massier in exchange for 18-year-old goaltender Keegan Maddocks.

The six-foot-one, 180-pound Massier had five goals and 12 points in 24 games in the pandemic-abbreviated 2021 WHL season. He has 13 goals and 27 points in 91 career WHL regular-season games for the Pats.

Victoria head coach and GM Dan Price labels Massier “a versatile, veteran forward who contributes on both sides of the puck and brings a combination of size and speed.”
