The Orangeville Northmen of Ontario won the 2019 Minto Cup national Junior A lacrosse championship with a 7-5 victory over the Victoria Junior Shamrocks on Friday night at the Langley Events Centre.
The Northmen swept the best-of-five final series 3-0.
Jackson Boyd and Austin Madronic each had a goal and assist for Victoria in Game 3.
The Junior Shamrocks were making their first Minto Cup appearance since 2008 and were looking for Greater Victoria’s first championship since Esquimalt Legion in 1988.
