Langley Thunder wins WLA championship against Nanaimo Timbermen

The Langley Thunder defeated the Nanaimo Timbermen 11-5 on Saturday night at the Langley Events Centre to win the best-of-seven Western Lacrosse Association final series 4-1.

Dan Dobbie led the Thunder with two goals and two assists to be named first star of the game. Langley goalkeeper Frank Scigliano was outstading in making 57 saves to be named second star. Colton Lidstone had a goal and three assists for Nanaimo, which was making its first appearance in the WLA final since 1968.

The Thunder will represent the WLA in the 2022 Mann Cup Senior A best-of-seven championship series to be played at the home of the Ontario champion.
