Holiday festivities to enjoy safely this season

Westhills, the 500-acre master planned development located in Langford, has plans to give back this year in a big way—and they need your help.

Westhills, the 500-acre master planned development located in Langford, has plans to give back this year in a big way—and they need your help.

The first way you can help is by contributing what you can to the Feed the Need food drive, which is being held in partnership with 100.3 Q Radio station. All you have to do is drop off your non-perishable food donations to the Westhills Carriage Home, located at 2979 Constellation Ave. It will be open to collect donations everyday from 12 p.m. to 4 pm..

If you’re looking for fun things to safely do with your family, head to the Bay Centre and marvel at the decorated trees on display for the 29th Annual Festival of Trees Victoria.

Once you’ve found a tree you like, you can text and vote for your favourite one and contribute to a great cause. If you like the Westhills tree, text “TREE05” to 45678, and a $5 donation will be sent to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, with your name on it. Voting ends on Jan. 5, 2021.

If you don’t already drive around town to look at all the houses lit up for the season, you may want to start a tradition this year. Head down to the Westhills neighbourhood and feel the cheer as residents light up their homes for the Annual Light Up the Hills Westhills Homeowner Holiday Outdoor Display Contest. Browse the virtual gallery or tour the neighbourhood and vote online for your chance to win a $150.00 gift card from Quality Foods. View the contest gallery and submission details online.

On Giving Tuesday, Westhills is also matching up to $2,000 of donations to HeroWork, an incredible community of people that come together to organize and complete radical renovations for local charities all over Vancouver Island.
