At the beginning of September, we decided we needed a web page dedicated to our WHL hockey team, the Victoria Royals.
So we built one: http://www.timescolonist.com/royals
Easy to remember, easy to find.
We were ambitious with the content we wanted to showcase there and from the first day of the season, we had most of what we wanted. But one piece was missing until last Friday. It's now in place and it's time to start bragging.
Here's what you'll find at timescolonist.com/royals:
- The latest Royals story from Times Colonist sports writers.
- The previous 24 (yes, 24!) stories about the Royals from Times Colonist writers.
- In between all those stories, blogging from a Times Colonist sports writer.
- News from around the WHL (and all other hockey leagues).
- A constantly updated photo gallery, featuring photos from Royals games taken by Times Colonist photographers. All the stuff we can't fit into the newspaper.
- A full season, easily navigable scorebaord.
- All previous scores for easy reference.
- A Twitter widget, showcasing all social media action circulating around our sports writers.
- The Royals advertise on this page with a handy, quick link to buy tickets.
The only thing that was missing? Video.
And now we have that, thanks to our partners at SendtoNews, who provide highlights of each Royals game and a library of previous games.
(We even have a video player showing NHL highlights, if that's more your cup of tea.)
Not good enough? Tell me what we're missing.
But I think it's time you checked it out: http://www.timescolonist.com/royals
