Re: "Driver should pay cost of the roads," Sept. 27. The argument that drivers don't pay the full cost of roads shouldn't carry much weight.

Re: "Dix says he would dump balancedbudget law," Sept. 28. We have to thank NDP leader Adrian Dix for making a clear statement about how he is planning to manage finances in B.C. if his party forms the next government.

The other weekend, on the ferry between Nanaimo and Horseshoe Bay, a nice woman handed me a piece of paper, told me she was from a research company and wanted my opinion on the ferry service.

Re: "Trudeaumania gets 21st-century update," Sept. 27. If Justin Trudeau really wants to win the leadership of the Liberal Party and ultimately form the governing party, he needs to promise to end the prohibition of marijuana. The Union of B.C.

Failing an 11th-hour entry into the Liberal leadership race by some unlikely giant-killer - say, Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney or Clark Kent - Justin Trudeau is the guy.

Re: "Federal funding for municipal infrastructure set to expire in 2014, B.C. cities, towns told," Sept. 26. A new long-term infrastructure plan will be ready by the time the Building Canada Fund expires in 2014.

I wish to offer my congratulations to the city park workers and contractors who did the wonderful work on Fishermen's Wharf Park. With B.C.

I consider the delay of the opening of the legislature this session to be undemocratic. I have no way of knowing what is being done in our (the citizens') name. "No taxation without representation" was an old rallying cry.
