Women must be willing to say ‘No’

It takes two to tango. I am so sick and tired of hearing that women are always being sexually harassed. All a woman has to say is: “No” or just: “Get lost,” and if that doesn’t work, kick him in the nuts.

Fifty years ago, when I worked for the B.C. government, I was asked to work overtime on a weekend, and while I was sitting at the teletype machine sending messages to the government agents around the province, my boss came up behind me and put his arms around me.

I was a little startled at first, but immediately, I got up, turned around and told him that he should be ashamed of himself, as he had a lovely wife and children. I told him never to ask me to work overtime again, took my purse and coat, and left. That is all a woman has to do.

By the way, I think that iconic photo is beautiful and shows the joy that the world felt at the end of a long, bloody and costly war.
