We shouldn't assume winners were doping

Since when do we (especially in the Olympic Games) by innuendo and outright accusations say that because an athlete has an outstanding performance that he or she must have been on dope?

Shame on the swim coach who started this innuendo and all the broadcasters who quoted him and sent it out all over the world that it was impossible for 16-year-old Ye Shiwen to swim that fast.

At the first suspicion that something was amiss, all of these suspicions should have gone behind closed doors, regardless of what the outcome would be. I have heard that Ye has been tested and found clear of any doping. I sincerely hope this is true.

For a 16-year-old to have to go through this is sad and if she has been cleared, I hope she holds her head up high.
