I enjoy Jack Knox’s columns on a regular basis, but I thought I might point out a slight error in Sunday’s. He states: “Part of my meal … died violently.”
In fact, almost all of your meal died violently — only the salt was not living. We can’t hear the carrot screaming as it is pulled from the ground, but that does not mean it was not a living organism.
