After spending somebody else’s money defending the downtrodden (civil rights in B.C.), Attorney General David Eby has the good luck to gain access to the bottomless monetary jackpot — taxpayers’ dollars.

Instead of concentrating on his portfolio and the people who voted him in, he wants to tilt at windmills by spending $20 million to $40 million to sue drug companies. Who gave him that right?

Spending taxpayers’ millions to sue tobacco companies, drug companies or large corporations should be decided entirely by a referendum. The way the world is going today, he will probably end up as premier. When that happens, hang on to your wallet.
