UBCM conference shows poor timing

I find it perplexing that the Union of B.C. Municipalities is holding its convention in Whistler so close to the October elections.

I find it perplexing that the Union of B.C. Municipalities is holding its convention in Whistler so close to the October elections. A proportion of attendees have already declared they will not be running for re-election and others will not be re-elected.

The timing of this conference smacks of poor judgment by the people we elect to take care of our interests. This is not the best use of our money, given that we, the taxpayers, pay all the costs for this event.

Holding the conference after the elections would have made much more sense.
