I find it very interesting that within minutes of polls closing in the U.S. midterm elections, early results, including those from early voting, were available. In fact, within half an hour, early trends, i.e. 20 per cent of the vote, had been posted.
Yet here in Saanich and Victoria, a small area in comparison, it took more than two hours for results.
I didn’t realize that our system was that backward. There is much room for improvement. It shouldn’t be that difficult to vote or get results.
