Some people can remember the ’60s

Re: “Prominent Canadians tell if they’ve toked,” Oct. 17. I have a lot of respect for Dr. Perry Kendall. However, the statement “I grew up in the ’60s, so I have obviously used it in the past” does not sit right with me.

I have a lot of respect for Dr. Perry Kendall. However, the statement “I grew up in the ’60s, so I have obviously used it in the past” does not sit right with me.

Both my wife and I grew up in the 1960s, and neither of us have ever tried it. None of our friends at that time ever used it, to the best of our knowledge. I don’t think it was as pervasive as Kendall’s statement might imply.

Maybe we just hung out with the wrong sort of people.
