Road means double Malahat jeopardy

Building a second highway over the Malahat simply doubles the scenario that exists on the current road: accidents and snow to contend with during the winter. The construction of such a corridor would be expensive.

A less expensive and the best alternative would be to build a bridge from the point at Coles Bay to the opposite shore just south of Mill Bay. This would eliminate the longer drive, the twisting highway and the impact of winter weather.
