Re: "Fresh start for airport creek," Oct. 23.

Congratulations and thanks are due to the Victoria Airport Authority for restoration work on Reay Creek.

Remedial work on the creek, whose source is on airport lands, is essential for the health of the creek and survival of cutthroat trout and salmon, which have been seen for the past several years.

Reay Creek is enjoyed by residents of Sidney and North Saanich as a peaceful oasis.

Sidney Anglers and Peninsula Streams Society will continue to work to improve the environment of the creek in co-operation with the airport authority.

TenTen Creek at the opposite end of the airport is also in urgent need of restoration, and Peninsula Streams Society volunteers are eagerly looking forward to working with the airport authority to bring the creek back to a fish-producing stream, especially as fingerling trout have recently been seen in the creek.
