To combat the future spread of measles, the Health Ministry should immediately require proof that children have been vaccinated with MMR before being accepted into public or private schools or day-care centres.
Many parents who embraced the anti-vaccine “experts” such as Jenny McCarthy, whose experience includes posing as a Playboy Playmate and who is now the host of the show Dirty, Sexy, Funny, did not have their children vaccinated. These “experts” are still on the anti-vaccine crusade.
Darla Shine, the wife of White House communications director Bill Shine, is advising against the use of the MMR vaccine to combat an epidemic of measles just south of our border in Washington and Oregon. Many parents are still following the advice of these “experts.”
Emmanuel Bilodeau, whose three sons now have measles, said that they did not have their children vaccinated because “there was a lot of talk against vaccination back then.” Proof positive that mandatory vaccination is the only immediate solution to combat similar outbreaks in the future.
