Let’s not be frightened into losing Canada

It would be easy to jump too quickly to conclusions without evidence. So far, the two killers seem to have acted alone. They were both surely vulnerable to extremist ideology. They might have had underlying psychological issues.

Certainly, there must be carefully considered security changes on Parliament Hill, but I would hate to see the freedom that is core to our Canadian way of life give way to paranoia, fearmongering and undue surveillance measures. Such measures would threaten what we in Canada hold dear and what makes our lives so precious.

This was not 9/11 or Bombay. Let us not be frightened into losing Canada.
