Let SPCA control import of rescue dogs

Isn’t the B.C. SPCA an umbrella organization that oversees the import of these “rescue” animals from outside the country?

It should have control of the animals brought into B.C. If it doesn’t, why not? It seems like a perfect fit. The border crossings are a good place to start.

Some of these rescue groups bring in many animals at once. Who knows what health problems they have, or even what diseases they might be carrying into B.C. to infect our pets.

We shouldn’t be importing rescue animals when we have so many here in our province that need a loving home.

I believe the B.C. SPCA should have responsibility for the rescue animals coming into our province.
