Re: “D-Day 75 Years: We remember,” June 9, 2019.
I was appalled when I opened the Islander section and saw the title pictures of D-Day depicting American troops landing on Omaha Beach.
It isn’t enough that we are inundated with American influence in everyday living?
Have we stooped so low that we can only glorify the contribution to the greatest military operation with tributes to U.S. troops?
Do we have the audacity to shun our Canadian counterparts in their participation in the invasion of Europe where so many Canadians died in the pursuit of peace? Shame on you, Times Colonist.
