Iconic photo was sexual harassment

You knew it had to come (and that’s a good thing), so here it is. “The Kiss” photo, which has been lauded for almost three-quarters of a century as capturing the joy of V-J Day, is, in fact, material evidence of — let’s call it what it was — sexual harassment. The (literal) intoxication of the moment, viewed for so long as providing licence to a man to grab and assault any woman within reach, is no longer something that should be silently condoned.
