Give police tools to do their jobs

Instead of considering 140 fanciful projects on their “to do” list, I suggest Victoria council members concentrate on giving the police the tools and manpower to do their jobs, giving contractors the go-ahead on fixing potholes, and giving someone who knows what he/she is doing authority to fix the sequencing of traffic-light changes so that drivers don’t have to stop their vehicles three times in five blocks.

Take care of those things and we might believe the ridiculously high property taxes we are paying are getting us at least a modicum of value for our hard-earned money.

The resulting benefits would be a safer community, fewer parts of vehicles in landfills and reduced pollution from needlessly idling vehicles.
