First Nations defend unceded territory

The RCMP are at the Unist’ot’en camp, which is First Nations unceded territory. There has been no free prior informed consent to put a pipeline carrying fracked gas through their territory. They do not want it.

I, as a taxpaying, voting citizen who supports the federal initiative on the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, demand that Canada respect the natives’ rights and withdraw the RCMP. It is entirely wrong and shameful to continue this action against peaceful First Nations protesting for their right not to have this pipeline through their lands.

I’m horrified the RCMP would be called in to jail people who only want to protect their rights, the land and the water.

The prime minister must stop this unlawful ignoring of Indigenous rights.
