When the NDP won the last provincial election, I thought that finally, in John Horgan, we had a politician who would be proactive and show leadership. But no, it is politics as before.
Just where have the NDP been for the past three years? Fort McMurray 2016, Waterton Lakes National Park 2017 and now a provincewide state of emergency. Our firefighting resources are based on historical precedent, not on current reality.
So here is a question: “Mr. Horgan, please tell us just what percentage of B.C. has to burn before you invest in a huge increase in our firefighting resources, and how will you pay for it?”
