City inaction loses grant money for pool

Re: “Crystal Pool project loses $6 million in grants,” Feb. 20.

Over the past few days, we have seen the worst examples of municipal government in recent memory: First, asking the Victoria police to go back to the drawing board and figure out how to do more with less, and now, the city losing the opportunity to use federal funding for a badly needed upgrade to the one and only recreation centre in the city, due to total inaction (yes, I know it is not a bike lane).

These are two glaring examples of people not doing the jobs they are elected and paid to do. As a taxpayer and resident, I only have one message for the council and the mayor: Do what you are supposed to do and work for the citizens of this beautiful city. Will it be too much to ask?
