Church building on most expensive land

Re: “Misconceptions about Oak Bay suites,” letter, March 7.

In asking his question: “Why would anyone build affordable housing on the most expensive lots in the region?” the letter-writer might have illuminated the intransigence of Oak Bay United Church in addressing the neighbourhood consternation over the church’s proposed bloated development.

Perhaps you would build affordable housing on the most expensive land only if you could build a disproportionately massive structure. You might also ask: How affordable will homes, which must bleed a continuing cash infusion into a floundering church building, be?
