Canada needs a new beginning

Why are Canadian governments not doing what the majority of Canadians want? All civilized, sensible people want to stop the burning of fossil fuels and their devastation to the environment and to all life on Earth.

Why are Canadian governments not doing what the majority of Canadians want? All civilized, sensible people want to stop the burning of fossil fuels and their devastation to the environment and to all life on Earth.

They want to transition, as soon as possible, to the cheaper, safe, clean renewable energy economy of the future and to reinvest our wealth and our workforce into developing and building this renewable-energy-powered economy.

To achieve this, we want our Canadian governments to stop all subsidies, of our money, to the fossil-fuel industries and to cancel the building of the Trans Mountain Pipeline and the B.C. liquefied natural gas development, which for decades will lock Canadians into mining and fracking for fossil fuel, and the devastating and poisoning of vast areas of beautiful Canadian land and water. It will also lock us into the certain dangers of poisonous oil spills from the pipes, trains and ships of fossil-fuel oil.

If our Canadian governments continue enabling the production and burning of fossil fuel, they will be guilty of knowingly contributing to the pain, sickness, death and destruction of millions of people around the world, which is a violation of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states: “Everyone has the right to life, liberty and the security of person.”

All Canadian leaders responsible for this violation should be tried by the World Court and dealt with appropriately.
