The writer expresses concern that there won’t be enough power available to charge the electric cars that we’re going to be driving. B.C. is awash in excess power.

The power from Site C will be surplus, except to give away to the fracked-methane extraction industry. B.C. Hydro pays independent power producers not to produce power. Once the slack is taken up, we will have huge renewable energy potential with wind, solar and geothermal. (B.C. is the only jurisdiction on the ring of fire that does not have any geothermal power production.)

As for site C, it is 1950s technology, and the insistence to go ahead with building it has driven the renewable industry out of the province. It boggles my mind how we can make so many bad decisions.
