A bureaucratic battle to remove a space

I legally took my husband’s last name when I married 47 years ago, and have been Peggy McCann for all those 47 years.

Last year, ICBC added a space to my name. After much argument, and finally undergoing a police inspection and fingerprinting, I was sent to Revenue Services B.C. (The staff were great, by the way, and had a good sense of humour.)

I am now about $400 poorer, but my official documents state that I have legally changed my name from Peggy Mc Cann to Peggy McCann.
