CHICAGO - Another search for victims of serial killer John Wayne Gacy has come up empty.
Tom Dart says his officers and the FBI used high-tech equipment and two trained dogs at the apartment complex of Gacy's late mother last month, but found nothing to indicate Gacy stashed any bodies there.
Gacy was convicted in 1980 of murdering 33 young men in the 1970s.
Dart in the last couple of years has been investigating on a number of fronts in the reopened case, including the exhumation of unidentified Gacy victims in the hopes DNA testing could identify them.
Now, the sheriff says he has no more digs or exhumations planned.
