Two women suspected of scamming Save-On-Foods locations in Saskatchewan, Alberta and now B.C. are believed to have targeted the store an McCallum Road in Langford.

The pair was first spotted in Saskatoon on March 19, and since then Save-On-Foods officials estimate $7,386 has been taken across western Canada.

West Shore RCMP said the Langford store was hit April 11. They said a “distraction-based technique” has been used during the incidents to allow cash to be taken before the theft is discovered.

Police did not elaborate on the what the technique entailed.

In some cases, the women have been seen leaving in a dark minivan.

“Someone knows who these women are,” said Const. Meighan Massey. “They are traveling across Canada in the middle of a pandemic, victimizing businesses as they go.”

Police ask anyone with information to call RCMP at 250-474-2264 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
