Girl reports being assaulted by gang of teens on trail in Courtenay

Police are looking for any witnesses who might have seen the youth on the trail.

Comox Valley RCMP are looking for a group of teens who assaulted a youth on a trail Tuesday morning in Courtenay.

The girl was on the path between Valley View Drive and Valley View Elementary School about 8:30 a.m. when she was assaulted by four teens, one of whom was female. The attack left her with significant injuries which required medical attention, said Const. Monika Terragni, spokeswoman for Comox Valley RCMP.

Investigators do not believe it was a random attack.

Police are looking for any witnesses who might have seen the teens on the trail.

One was wearing baggy blue jeans and Vans-brand shoes, while another had long blond hair and black-and-white checkered shoes. Another was wearing brown pants, and the fourth had white shoes and black-and-white pants.
