West Shore RCMP look for vehicle involved in Colwood hit and run

West Shore RCMP are looking for the driver of a sedan that struck a pedestrian at a Colwood crosswalk and fled. The woman was walking through the crosswalk on Wishart Road at Salton Drive in Colwood on Tuesday at 11:15 p.m.

The arrest of the 30-year-old man May 10 followed a search carried out by the West Shore RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit at a residential Langford property on Moyes Road, near Treanor Avenue.

West Shore RCMP are looking for the driver of a sedan that struck a pedestrian at a Colwood crosswalk and fled.

The woman was walking through the crosswalk on Wishart Road at Salton Drive in Colwood on Tuesday at 11:15 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle. The victim had minor injuries and was helped by a bystander.

The driver did not stop to check on the woman and sped away, heading up Salton Drive toward Stornoway Road.

Police canvassed the area but could not find the vehicle, which is described as a small four-door car, possibly blue in colour. The licence plate is unknown.

If you were the driver of this vehicle, please do the right thing call us and identify yourself to police, we need to talk to you, said Const. Nancy Saggar, spokeswoman for West Shore RCMP.
