A washout on the Pacific Rim Highway near Pacific Rim National Park has led to single-lane alternating traffic on a portion of the highway.

The washout occurred on Highway 4, about one kilometre east of the park’s southern boundary. The Transportation Ministry’s DriveBC site says to expect delays.

The west coast of the Island received heavy rain on the weekend, with Ucluelet receiving 210 millimetres of precipitation and Tofino receiving 167 mm.
