Victoria police investigating string of robberies at businesses

A string of robberies have Victoria police on the hunt for a man photographed in surveillence videos. Detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred Thursday night that may be related to two other robberies this past week, said Victoria Const.

A string of robberies have Victoria police on the hunt for a man photographed in surveillence videos.

Detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred Thursday night that may be related to two other robberies this past week, said Victoria Const. Matt Rutherford.

On April 11, at about 7:40 p.m., a business in the 1600 block of Fort Street, near Oak Bay Avenue, was robbed.

The man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash before police arrived.

He is described as white and was wearing a grey balaclava, black shirt, and dark pants.

Police believe the same man could be responsible for two other robberies, including one on the same day.

Just after midnight on Aprill 11, a business on Bay Street near Blanshard Street was robbed of money and cigarettes.

On April 5, a business in the 2900 block of Douglas Street, near Burnside Road East, was also robbed of money and cigarettes. Investigators have released surveillance images from all three robberies in the hope somebody will recognize the man.

Police ask anyone with information about the robberies to call the non-emergency line at 250-995-7654.
