Victoria police have arrested three men in connection with a double stabbing downtown.

Police were called to the 900-block of Pandora Avenue at 3:30 p.m. Monday after reports two men had been bear-sprayed and stabbed. Both were sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police said their conditions were upgraded Tuesday to non-life-threatening.

Detectives with VicPD’s Major Crime Unit are investigating.

Investigators believe it was a targeted incident and do not believe there is a risk to public safety.

Police said they identified three suspects in the incident. Within an hour and a half, officers located and arrested one of the suspects in Bastion Square. Less than 20 minutes later, officers arrested a second suspect in the 1400-block of Vancouver Street.

At about noon Tuesday, officers with VicPD’s Community Services Division located and arrested the third suspect in the 900-block of Pandora.

All three men are being held in custody.

Victoria police are asking anyone with information to contact the report desk at 250-995-7654 ext. 1 or Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
