Victoria police took one man into custody Friday evening after he barricaded himself in a suite on Pandora Avenue.
Officers arrived at a downtown apartment building between Douglas and Blanshard streets, to find a man in a unit with a person with whom he was ordered not to have contact.
Crisis negotiators tried to persuade the man to leave for several hours, but he refused. After obtaining a warrant, the man was arrested without injury. The other person in the apartment was not injured.
Officers with the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team and patrol officers responded to the call. A large police presence and the use of a noise-distraction device prompted questions from the public.
