David Oliver, Christ Church Cathedral's tower captain, tolled the churchÕs tenor bell at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2019, in a show of support for Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris following a fire this week.

Christ Church Cathedral’s tower captain, David Oliver, tolled the church’s tenor bell for seven minutes on Thursday morning, in sync with cathedrals in the U.K., as a gesture of support for Paris’s Notre Dame Cathedral and its congregation following a fire there on Monday. Investigators think an electrical short-circuit likely sparked the fire, which caused the spire to collapse and destroyed the roof of the 12th-century cathedral.
