Victoria police are seeking witnesses to an early-morning sexual assault in downtown Victoria.
Police said officers were called to the 800-block of Cormorant Street shortly before 4 a.m., where they learned from a woman that she had been sexually assaulted outside by a stranger. Police said no interaction between the suspect and victim preceded the unprovoked attack.

The woman fought off the man, who was last seen riding southbound on Blanshard Street on a grey mountain bike. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a South Asian or Black man, standing approximately six feet, two inches tall, with a slim build, short dark hair and a dark, scruffy beard. He wore a dark, hooded sweater with the hood up and a mask over his face.
