Two suspects arrested in separate armed robberies in Duncan

North Cowichan-Duncan RCMP have arrested two suspects in separate armed robberies that occurred within a few hours of each other Tuesday.

In the first incident, police responded to a theft from a vehicle that escalated to a robbery in progress in the 300-block of Trunk Road about 7:30 a.m. Officers arrested a 56-year-old man matching the suspect’s description and recovered a weapon.

In the second incident, police responded to a robbery with a weapon at a jewelry store near Craig Street and Kenneth Street about 11:20 a.m. A 47-year-old suspect was located nearby.

Police do not believe the incidents were related.
