Three badly hurt when motorcycle hits pedestrian

A pedestrian is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a motorcycle Saturday night in downtown Victoria. The two people on the motorcycle suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The pedestrian was walking along Douglas Street about 8:45 p.m. and was struck by the motorcycle as it headed west on Pandora Avenue.

The rider and passenger were thrown from the motorcycle.

Bystanders, including several off-duty doctors, helped the three injured people until paramedics and police arrived.

Victoria police traffic officers and major-crime detectives continue to investigate what caused the crash.
