A 17-year-old Nanaimo boy injured when he was struck by an SUV last week has died of his injuries.
Witnesses said the teen was in the crosswalk at Hammond Bay and Ventura roads when he was hit about 3:15 p.m. on March 6.
The victim, a student in the Nanaimo-Ladysmith school district, was airlifted to Victoria for treatment.
The SUV’s 33-year-old driver stayed at the scene and is co-operating with police.
The B.C. Coroners Service is investigating.
