A 29-year-old man has been identified as a suspect in an Oak Bay robbery on Saturday where a knife was pulled.

Oak Bay Deputy Police Chief Ray Bernoties said the man was identified Monday afternoon and an arrest warrant was being prepared, but Victoria police ended up making an arrest Monday night on a separate warrant.

Oak Bay police are recommending charges of robbery and breach of conditions against the man for being in possession of a knife.

The robbery took place at a store at Eastdowne Road and Dalhousie Street. A man took food items and exited the store, then showed a knife when he was approached by the owner, before leaving on a bicycle.
